This series of three book jackets was designed using appropriated structures as visual elements. I photographed a number objects around the house considering compositional structure. I then chose three iconic cookbooks. I deconstructed the structures, played with placement, scale and transparency to represent the cookbook. The goal was to communicate the essence of the cookbook while also creating a cohesive look among the three through layout, color, and treatment of type.
Typeface: Mrs. Eaves, chosen because it was designed in honor of a woman in a traditional female role as housekeeper, as the cookbooks were written by women for women homemakers.
